Police arrest Toledoan after vehicle chase

Shaquille O’Neal Williams, 19, of 1849 North Detroit Ave., was held Monday night in the Lucas County jail on a charge of receiving stolen property after he allegedly refused to stop the car he was driving — reported stolen just a short time earlier — on Fitchland Avenue in the central city.

Mr. Williams was arrested Monday. Police said the car was driven off the pavement on Smead Avenue as police pursued the driver. The driver got out and fled on foot, according to a Toledo police report.

He is to be arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court this morning.
