Toledo gym owner died of single shot to chest

Joseph Lengel, Jr., owner of a South Toledo gym, died after being shot once in the chest, an autopsy showed.

Lucas County Coroner Dr. James Patrick said Mr. Lengel, 57, of Toledo suffered the shotgun wound to the left side of his chest. The victim, who was found Monday outside his gym, CrossFit Toledo Intensity Fitness, 757 Warehouse Rd., was pronounced dead at the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio, at 6:35 a.m.

Police have not made any arrests in the case.
