Northbound U.S. 23 reopened at I-475 in Sylvania Township this afternoon after a series of crashes closed off the road. No serious injuries are believed to have occurred in any of a string of crashes on U.S. 23 in Monroe County around midday today after snow squalls caused icy conditions. Crashes also occurred on I-75 in Monroe County and Toledo, and on I-280 in Toledo during the squalls.

Monroe County Sheriff's dispatchers reported a chain reaction collision south of Milan involving a tractor-trailer and as many as 20 cars, but said nobody was seriously hurt there or elsewhere all along U.S. 23 to the state line.

Several life squads were sent to a crash scene on I-280 at Front Street in East Toledo shortly before 1 p.m. Other crashes were reported at I-280 and Front Street, at the I-75/I-280 junction in North Toledo, at Arlington and Detroit avenues in South Toledo, and on the Anthony Wayne Trail.
