Toledo police have identified Kevin Coffey-Fench, 17, and Travon Sutton, 20, both of Toledo, as the victims in the overnight West Toledo shooting.

Mr. Sutton was shot in the chest and Coffey-Fench was shot in the leg. The shooting was at Vermaas and West Sylvania Avenues, Toledo police said. The victims were taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where no information about them was available today.

Emergency and rescue crews were originally dispatched to the 3900 block of Vermaas Avenue for a car fire shortly before 11:45 p.m. Friday, police said.

Shortly after that, a male called 911 and reported he had been shot at that location, a Toledo dispatcher said. Emergency crews arriving at the scene just before midnight said a second shooting victim was down, the dispatcher said.

Sgt. Tim Noble said there was a party at that location.

It was unclear whether the car fire and the shootings were connected, authorities said.

Police did not have the motive, Sgt. Noble said. There were no arrests.
