Man wounded in incident Tuesday night

A man wounded in an overnight shooting has been identified by police as Tomas DeLaGarza.

The victim, 21, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment. An update on the victim's condition was not available.

At 11 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to the 300 block of Western Avenue on a report of a person shot.

Witnesses told police they were on their way to 324 Western to visit the victim, and they saw a red Pontiac Grand Prix in front of them in front of the residence. Someone inside the vehicle reached out and fired four or five times at the victim and then fled on Western toward Broadway Street.

Officers reported finding four shell casings in the street.

No other injuries were reported, but at least one home, 321 Eastern Ave., was struck by at least one round.
