Indianapolis man, 61, killed in single-vehicle crash near Tiffin

TIFFIN -- An Indianapolis man was killed early today when the car he was driving crashed on State Rt. 67 near this Seneca County community, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Patrick Lair, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene in Eden Township, about six miles southwest of Tiffin, according to the patrol's Fremont post.

Mr. Lair was driving south on Route 67 near Township Road 58 about 2:45 a.m. when for unknown reasons the vehicle drove off the left side of the road, struck a ditch, and overturned, rolling over several times, troopers said.

The crash is under investigation. Mr. Lair was wearing a seat belt.

Tiffin, the county seat, is about 50 miles southeast of Toledo.
