A Toledo man accused of going on a window-breaking spree downtown was arraigned Thursday on a vandalism charge.

Christopher Carter, 22, 556 Leach St., appeared in Toledo Municipal Court and was ordered held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Authorities said an officer with the U.S. Customs and Immigration saw a man breaking windows and doors Wednesday afternoon.

In all, 17 windows and two doors were broken: two windows and a door at the Gardner Building, 500 Madison Ave.; two windows and a door at Key Bank, 245 N. Superior St.; and 13 windows at 241 N. Superior.

Mr. Carter was arrested by Toledo police after a brief foot chase downtown.
