Toledo Police department personnel enter the house at 1105 Montrose. A suspect in a shooting and robbery attempt was removed from his house Toledo officers.

A man who is believed to be a shooting suspect surrendered to Toledo police today after he had been holed up in a home in the 1100 block of Montrose Avenue.

The man, who has not yet been identified, walked out of the home at 12:20 p.m. with SWAT team members.

A canine unit alerted to the house earlier and police said they had other information that made them believe the suspect was inside the home, said Sgt. Joe Heffernan, spokesman for the police department.

The suspect is wanted in a shooting earlier today in which, after being given a ride from a couple in East Toledo, he got out of the car in the 1100 block of Waverly Avenue and fired at least once.

The victim and his girlfriend drove to Baron and Palmwood avenues and were met by police.

The shooting was reported just before 9:15 a.m.

The suspect initially was seen running eastbound through yards near Waverly and Dorr Street before police zeroed in on the Montrose home.
