Man sought in crash in Defiance County

DEFIANCE — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a Defiance County crash that occurred near the Defiance/​Paulding County line in which a car veered off State Rte. 111, hit a mailbox, a utility pole, and then a house.

The driver, Johnny G. Rakes, 37, is accused of fleeing the scene on foot.

Police are looking for him and any information about the crash, which occurred shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday.He wore blue jeans and a red Coca-Cola shirt. Anyone with information is asked to call 419-784-1025.
