PORT CLINTON — The Ottawa County Coroner's Office was trying Sunday to determine who died in a single-car crash late Saturday on State Rt. 163 east of Englebeck Road that ended with the driver engulfed in flames.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle, which struck a boulder after veering off the road about 11:45 p.m. The impact caused the car to flip. It then struck a utility pole, a tree, and overturned again before coming to a rest in a parking lot, state troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol's post in Sandusky said. At some point, it caught fire.
