Toledo police called to scenes of 2 shootings; no arrests made

Toledo police responded to two shootings Tuesday a few hours apart. In the first incident, a person was shot on Glenwood Avenue near Islington Street in central Toledo. The victim was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, authorities said.

A name and condition were not released. Toledo police continued to investigate late Tuesday.

Initial reports were that shots were fired just before 7 p.m. during a robbery attempt, authorities said.

Police were looking for a dark-colored sport utility vehicle that drove from the scene. In the second incident Toledo police responded to a report of a person shot at a house in the 1200 block of Buckingham Street near Hoag Street, authorities said.

An ambulance was sent to the scene about 10:40 p.m.

Witnesses told police that a person in black clothing ran eastbound on Buckingham after the shooting. The identity and condition of the victim were not reported.
