Man shot near Dorr St., Upton Ave.

A man was shot Monday night in a neighborhood near Dorr Street and Upton Avenue after he was approached by a man who demanded money, police said.

Rudolph Small, 62, was shot once in the hip and taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officers said.

Mr. Small was getting out of a vehicle in the 1500 block of Addington Road about 8:30 p.m. when he was approached by a suspect who demanded money. A struggle ensued and the victim was struck.

No arrests have been made.
