Normal traffic resumes after multiple crashes litter I-75

Multiple crashes closed northbound I-75 in East Toledo and Rossford and southbound I-75 in North Toledo  today, authorities said.

There were no serious injuries in the Toledo crashes, according to the Lucas County EMS. A medical helicopter has been called to the scene of the Rossford crash. 

The southbound lanes of the interstate were closed from the state line to Willys Parkway in North Toledo. The northbound lanes were closed just south of the Maumee River in Toledo and at Buck Road in Rossford, authorities said.

The crashes in the southbound lanes occurred south of the I-280 interchange in North Toledo between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., a Toledo police dispatcher said. Northbound I-75 in Rossford was closed for an injury crash that occurred about noon, according to Rossford police. Northbound I-75 in Rossford reopened sometime by 2 p.m., police said.

The northbound lanes in East Toledo were closed after a tractor-trailer rig jack-knifed near Miami Street about 10:20 a.m. Traffic at that location returned to normal this afternoon, police said.

Traffic in the southbound lanes of the interstate from the state line to Willys Parkway in North Toledo returned to normal shortly before noon, Toledo police said.

The interstate was slippery.
