FREMONT — Two teenagers were thrown from a vehicle Sunday night in a single-car crash in Sandusky County's Ballville Township.

Troopers from the Fremont post of the Highway Patrol reported that 16-year-old Javon McDonald, of Fremont, was driving eastbound on County Road 201, west of Tiffin Road, and was driving too fast on the slick roadway. His car went off the north side of the road, into a field, and overturned at 9:40 p.m.

Drake Brown, 18, and Janell Raby, 15, both of Fremont, were ejected from the car and were taken to Fremont Memorial Hospital with critical injuries, troopers said.

Neither were wearing seatbelts.

Savhana Cousins, 15, of Fremont, also suffered critical injuries and was taken by helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, troopers said. The Cousins youth was wearing a seatbelt.

A hospital spokesman said no condition was currently available on the Cousins youth.

The McDonald youth also suffered injuries and was taken to Fremont Memorial Hospital for treatment. Troopers said they do not know if he was wearing a seatbelt.

Condition updates for the three teens at Fremont Memorial were not immediately available.

Troopers said they do not believe alcohol to be a factor in the crash.
