B.G. utility customers warned of email scam

BOWLING GREEN — Emails received by some Bowling Green Municipal utilities customers purporting to charge unpaid, past-due balances are fraudulent and should be disregarded and deleted, officials said.

The scam messages claim to represent Pacific Gas and Electric Co., contain a statement showing unpaid billing, and request personal payment information. Customers should not respond, click on links or open attachments, or provide any personal or financial information.
