His shooting was reported to police at 1:12 a.m. The time of death was not known, but authorities - after saying he was undergoing treatment most of the morning - confirmed his passing shortly before noon.

Barely three hours later, police received a call about multiple shots fired at Ottawa Drive and Auburn Avenue in West Toledo.

Officers found Michael Williams, Jr., 24, dead at the scene.

Investigators did not say in their release how many times either man was shot or if the Williams death was indeed from a gunshot wound, although it was reported earlier in the day as a shooting. The victim was found between the Auburn Mini Mart and a closed Adams Laundry & Cleaners. The apparent shooting was believed to have occurred in front of a small church.

Police did not disclose possible motives, background on the victims, the type of guns believed to have been used, or other circumstances surrounding their deaths.
