Toledoan in jail after robbing Family Dollar store

A Toledo man accused of robbing a Family Dollar on Sunday was arraigned today in Toledo Municipal Court.

Charged with one count of aggravated robbery is Ralph Battle, 58, of 2306 Isherwood St. In court today he was ordered to be held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Police reported that a man went into the store, 1910 W. Bancroft St., at 9:51 p.m. Sunday with his hand in his coat pocket as if he had a gun.

The man demanded cash from the register and then fled with $262.

Police said the crime was captured on surveillance and was identified with the help of a store employee who recognized the robber as a regular customer.
