First the man wanted a piece of pie. Then he changed his order.

“Never mind,” he said while pointing a gun today at the restaurant clerk as she reached for the dessert. “Give me all the money from the cash register.”

The employee at Ayana’s Coney Island, 1488 W. Sylvania Ave., told the robber she couldn’t open the register.

Flustered, the suspect fled and ran east on Sylvania, then north on Parakeet Avenue, according to a police incident report.

The suspect in the 1:30 p.m. robbery is described as white, in his early 20s, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds, with brown eyes. He had a “thin” mustache and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black face mask, blue jeans, and white gloves.

Police ask that anyone with information call the Crime Stopper program at 419-255-1111.
