Man stabbed in attempted robbery overnight

A man was stabbed on the street in central Toledo early today by another man who apparently was trying to rob him of cash, authorities said.

Toledo police identified the victim as Charles Owens. His age, address, and condition were not released.  

The incident occurred about 2:10 a.m. at North Detroit Avenue and Lamson Street, police said. The assailant approached the victim demanding money and then stabbed him, officers said.

There was no word of arrests.

The incident remains under investigation.
