An Ohio Highway Patrol sergeant accused of showing a pornographic video to a 12-year-old boy has been fired.

Ricky Vitte, 34, of Helena, Ohio, was placed on paid administrative leave April 9 following an indictment by a Sandusky County grand jury on felony and misdemeanor counts of disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile.

He was fired April 21 for conduct unbecoming an officer after the patrol completed an administrative investigation.

The charges stem from a 2009 incident in which the former sergeant allegedly showed a pornographic video to a relative and “taught him how to masturbate,” according to a report detailing the investigation.

Mr. Vitte has 14 days to file a grievance objecting to his termination, but as of Monday he had not done so, according to the patrol.

His court arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
