Bond was set Tuesday at $100,000 for a Start High School student who is accused of taking a gun into the West Toledo school Monday.

Willie Carter III, 18, of 1928 Brame Place was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court on charges of weapons under disability, trafficking in drugs, carrying a concealed weapon, illegal conveyance of firearm, and resisting arrest.

He remained in the Lucas County jail in lieu of bond and is due back in court May 8 for a preliminary hearing.

Police said the man was arrested in Start’s cafeteria by a Toledo Public Schools officer. Police found a 45-caliber handgun and seven bags of marijuana in his possession.

The school was locked down for about three hours while police searched unsuccessfully for a second reported gun suspect.
