Woman discovered dead in Monroe County's Detroit Beach; husband injured by gunshot
5/3/2014The Monroe County Sheriff's Office, responding to a 911 call Friday, discovered a woman dead and a man injured by a gunshot in the 2400 block of Fairview Street in Detroit Beach.
The injured 40-year-old man, who was not identified by the sheriff's office, called 911 at 12:52 p.m. to report that his wife, 39, had shot him and then shot herself, the sheriff's office said. The man was taken to Oakwood Southshore Hospital, where he was treated and is expected to survive.
The Michigan State Police crime lab assisted the Monroe County Sheriff's office at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
