Adrian police issue arrest warrant for suspect in shooting that left 2 injured

ADRIAN -- Arrest warrants were issued today in connection with a shooting that left two people injured Thursday evening near a city park, Adrian police said.

The warrants name Jacob Christopher Edmond, 27, of Adrian, in one count of felonious assault and two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous and advised anyone who spots him to call 911.

Adrian police in a statement said that officers responded about 6:35 p.m. Thursday to a report of shots fired in the 700 block of Erie Street near Parish Park and found two victims.

One victim had a gunshot wound to his left arm, and the other had a wound on the back of his head, which did not appear to be caused by a gunshot, police said. The gunshot victim was transported to ProMedica Bixby Hospital and later to ProMedica Toledo Hospital. The victim with the head injury was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

Police said today that one of the victims remains in critical condition and the other in "stable" condition. Their names were not released, police said they are adults.
