Toledoan pleads not guilty in fatal beating

A Toledo man charged with murder and felonious assault for the fatal beating of another man was arraigned Wednesday before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Michael Goulding.

Jerome Carter, 26, of 930 Islington St., pleaded not guilty to the charges, which stem from the death of Jeffrey Miller-Lee, 27. The victim was assaulted outside 417 Cumberland Pl. April 12 and died April 15.

Judge Goulding appointed attorney James Anderson to represent Carter and set a pretrial hearing for June 25.
