No charges filed in South Toledo incident

No charges have been filed in a Monday evening shooting that left one man, who allegedly attacked the shooter with a bat, injured.

Police report that Raphael Garcia was shot in a leg in the back yard of 917 Vinton St., in South Toledo, at 4:52 p.m. He was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio, for treatment. His condition was not available today.

Police said Mr. Garcia, whose age and address were not available, was shot by Antonia Francoa, of Toledo, who fired at least twice after Mr. Garcia allegedly hit her boyfriend, Anthony Soria, with a baseball bat and then turned the bat on Ms. Francoa, who has a concealed-carry permit. Ms. Francoa took a gun out of her purse and then fired.

The investigation is ongoing.
