A Toledo woman was seriously injured when a car she was driving and a tractor-trailer rig collided late Wednesday on southbound I-75 in Rossford, closing the lanes for about two hours, authorities said.

Christian Tolles, 31, who was trapped in the wreckage for a time, was flown to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol‘s post in Bowling Green. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.

Ms. Tolles was driving south on the interstate near Buck Road about 10:30 p.m. when her car struck the rear of a disabled semi, which was stopped partially on the shoulder and partially in the right lane, troopers said in a prepared statement released today. It was unclear whether she wore a seat belt.

Butoyi Francois, 27, of Grand Rapids, Mich., the driver of the semi, was not injured in the crash, according to the patrol. He had set out emergency fluorescent triangles and turned on the semi’s emergency flashers prior to the crash, troopers said.

Traffic on I-75 returned to normal about 12:30 a.m. today, according to the patrol.

No charges have been filed.

The crash remains under investigation.
