A man was shot in his abdomen early Saturday morning while sitting in a car parked outside a North Toledo bar.

Rodney Saine, 42, of Toledo was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment, police said. A hospital spokesman on Monday said no patient with that name was there.

Mr. Saine was sitting in the driver’s seat of a van at 2:15 a.m. Saturday at JT’s Yours and Ours, 3325 Stickney Ave., when someone fired several shots through the vehicle door. He was hit once in the abdomen and, according to the police report, was “not very cooperative” with officers and paramedics.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police said Mr. Saine’s vehicle had five bullet holes in it. Three 40-caliber shell casings were recovered from the scene.

Mr. Saine is the third person to be shot at JT’s Yours and Ours in about five weeks.

On April 27, two men — Antonio Dunbar, 23, and Raymon Draper, 27 — were shot while inside the bar. Mr. Dunbar was shot in his legs and Mr. Draper was grazed, police said. No arrests were made.

Police ask that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
