VICKERY, Ohio -- A Clyde, Ohio man was injured early today when he lost control of his sport-utility vehicle and crashed into guardrails and a ditch, the Ohio Highway Patrol reported.

Tobias J. Keegan, 28, was flown after the 12:36 a.m. crash to the University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, where he was in critical condition today, troopers at the patrol’‍s Fremont post said.

Mr. Keegan’‍s SUV was eastbound on Townsend Township Road 237 when it went off the right side of the roadway, struck a guardrail, then veered to the left and struck another guardrail on the roadway’‍s opposite side, according to the report. The vehicle then went through an intersection with Sandusky County Road 268 and rolled into the ditch, where it landed on its roof, troopers said.

Troopers said high speed appeared to be a factor in the crash and Mr. Keegan was not wearing a seat belt. Charges were pending and the state patrol’‍s investigation continued later today, a patrol statement said.
