Two more South Toledo carryouts were robbed over the weekend, police said.
In & Out Mart, 2425 Key St., was robbed by two armed, masked men at 9:44 p.m. Saturday.
The suspects demanded cash and cigarettes from a clerk and cash from a customer who had been making a purchase; the suspects then fled the store.
Friday night, at 10:23, Save Way Red And White, 1936 Broadway, was robbed by two armed men who had T-shirts wrapped around their faces. When the suspects went into the store, one rushed the counter and pointed his gun at the manager and demanded cash, according to a police report. When the manager didn‘t immediately open the register, he was punched by the suspect. A second suspect then forced two customers onto the floor. Once the suspects had cash, they fled on foot.

The Key Street robbery is less than one mile from the previous carryout hold up at Eastgate Carry Out, 1853 Eastgate Rd., on Wednesday. There, one man armed with a gun and possibly wearing a doo-rag over his face went into the store just before midnight, took candy and then went to the counter to ask the manager for cigarettes. When the manager turned around, the suspect pointed a gun at him and demanded cash. Money in hand, the suspect fled on foot.
Since May 1, there have been 14 carryout robberies in Toledo, most of them in South Toledo. Not all are at the hands of two suspects, but police have said at least six of the crimes are related.
