Toledo firefighters responded today to two alleged arson fires in a vacant house in North Toledo.

The first fire, which started on the front porch of the two-story home at 111 W. Streicher St., was reported about 4:20 a.m. A second fire was reported at the same location about 8:20 a.m., according to Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld of the Toledo Fire Department.

Lt. Hertzfeld said that there were no injuries from the fire. However, firefighters found a dead dog on the second story of the house.

The house suffered about $25,000 in damage. Lieutenant Hertzfeld said a witness told investigators that 15 to 20 people had been in the home on Saturday cleaning up damage from a fire that had occurred on a previous occasion.
