West Toledo bank robbed shortly after opening

A West Toledo bank was robbed today just minutes after opening.

Police are looking one suspect after the robbery at PNC, 5826 Lewis Ave., at about 9 a.m. when a man went into the bank and demanded cash from the tellers, according to a statement from the FBI. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled, possibly in a silver or gray Dodge Dakota or Dodge Ram with an extended cab.

The suspect was described by FBI officials as a white or Hispanic man in his early 50s, about 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet. He weighs between 175 and 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball hat, dark blue or green zip-up windbreaker jacket, blue jeans, dark sunglasses, and white or gray gloves.

It was not immediately known if the suspect was armed. Police ask that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111 or the FBI at 419-243-6122.
