Man shot in Central Toledo

Incident was near Norwood and Waite avenues

A 19-year-old Toledo man was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Monday night after he was shot in the leg by another man in central Toledo, police said.

Toledo Police Sgt. Bill Wauford said Sherron Clemons was shot once about 7 p.m. on Norwood Avenue near Waite Avenue, just north of Dorr Street.

The suspect, who was described as a young black male, fled on foot after shooting the teenager, he said.

Shortly after midnight, Lucas County EMS took another shooting victim to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

That victim appeared to be shot in the shoulder and hip, according to scanner traffic.
