Toledo police are investigating robberies at two city gas stations in which the lone bandit in each case was masked and armed.

At 5:03 a.m. today, Circle K, 1235 N. Holland-Sylvania Rd., was robbed, police said. The suspect went into the store, behind the counter, and repeatedly demanded the clerk open the register. During the robbery, the suspect had a gun, at hip level, pointed at the clerk, according to a police report. Once the cash drawer was open, the suspect took $54 cash and fled.

The suspect is described in a police report as black, 6 feet, 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a red zip-up hooded sweatshirt, black mask, gray T-shirt, light blue jeans, and gray shoes with red laces.

Friday, at 11:42 p.m., Sunoco Stop & Go, 4411 Heatherdowns Blvd., was robbed, police said.

A clerk told officers that a man came into the store with a gun, went behind the counter, and ordered the clerk to put cash into a knit winter hat. The clerk complied and the suspect fled southbound behind the store, police said. A complete description of the suspect was not available.

Police ask that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
