Multiple vehicles involved in North Toledo crash

A crash that occurred today on a portion of Benore Road that overpasses I-75 in North Toledo.

Toledo firefighters and police were called Friday evening to a wrong-way crash with life-threatening injuries in the 5100 block of Benore Road.

The head-on crash happened just after 8 p.m. on the Benore Road overpass to I-75 in North Toledo and sent Joshua Carter, 23, and Jackie Wagner, 22, both of Toledo, to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

Ms. Wagner was in critical condition in surgery early today.

Carter, who was in the neuro intensive care unit, also was in critical condition.

According to police, Carter was traveling east in the westbound lane and struck Ms. Wagner’s car head-on.

Carter’s car caught fire after impact.
