Woodville area couple injured in 1-car crash

WOODVILLE, Ohio — A Woodville-area couple were flown to Toledo Hospital after a one-car crash on U.S. 20 about a mile west of the village on Independence Day, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Bruce A. Simkus, 42, was listed in serious condition this morning and his passenger, Megan A. Simkus, 41, was in critical condition.

Mr. Simkus was driving a sports car east on U.S.20 in Woodville Township at about 6:20 p.m. when the car went off the right side of the road and struck a concrete culvert, the patrol reported.

Mr. Simkus was trapped in the crashed car. The road was closed for about three hours.
