Toledoan arraigned in death of motorcyclist

A Toledo woman accused of killing a motorcyclist was arraigned today.

Lora Staton, 34, of 504 W. Alexis Rd., is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. In Toledo Municipal Court her bond was set at $25,000.

Police allege that, on June 9, Ms. Staton did not stop at a stop sign at Alexis and Recamper Drive where she struck Vance Popp, 43, of Sylvania, who was riding a motorcycle. According to an affidavit, Ms. Staton had a blood-alcohol level of 0.12 percent; the legal limit in Ohio, for drivers 21 and older, is 0.08 percent.
