3 hospitalized in 2-car collision on State Rt. 613

OAKWOOD, Ohio — Three people were injured in a two-car crash Sunday on State Rt. 613 between Oakwood and Melrose in southeast Paulding County, authorities said.

Christina R. Kroeckel, 34, of Paulding was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Kebecca J. Thomas, 47, of Oakwood also was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center. Courtney Thomas, 15, who was a passenger in the Thomas car, was taken to Defiance Regional Hospital. Their conditions were not available.

Troopers with the Van Wert post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said Ms. Kroeckel was driving east about 7:20 p.m. when she went off the right side of Route 613, returned to the roadway, and crossed the center line into the path of the westbound Thomas car.

Ms. Kroeckel’s Ford Mustang came to rest in the center of the road and the Ford Fusion driven by Ms. Thomas went into the ditch on the north side of Route 613.

Troopers said the accident remains under investigation.
