Man in custody after near 2-hour search
7/17/2014Police have one man in custody after a search that involved blocking off Burdette Street in West Toledo for almost two hours this evening.
Authorities took the man into custody at 3138 Brock Dr., at about 8 p.m.
It was not immediately reported why police sought the man. The incident was first reported as a traffic stop just after 6 p.m., authorities said. Police later received tips that he was seen on the Maple Grove Golf Course, just over the state line in Bedford Township.
Officers maintained phone contact with the man while they tracked him down. The scene along Brock Drive and nearby Burdette Street included a large SWAT vehicle and more than half a dozen Toledo police cruisers and SUVs.
