Person shot in central Toledo

At least one person was shot late Friday in the 1500 block of Buckingham Street in central Toledo, authorities said.

Police stopped a vehicle carrying the victim, apparently bound for a hospital, at Belmont and Detroit avenues 10 p.m., five minutes after the shooting was reported.

Medical responders were called to the scene. The victim‘‍s condition was not immediately available.

Police are continuing an investigation.
