NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio — A fire at a plastics recycling plant remained under investigation Friday, authorities said.

No one was injured in the fire at HPJ Industries in North Baltimore, Ohio, that was reported by neighbors about 11 p.m. Thursday, said Allan Baer, the village police chief.

Firefighters arrived at the plant in the 500 block of West Broadway Street to find its pallet yard ablaze, and extinguished the fire within about four hours, Chief Baer said.

The blaze destroyed the pallet yard and damaged siding on several neighboring houses. Because the investigation was ongoing, a damage estimate was not available Friday, he said. No one was working at the plant when the fire broke out.

North Baltimore is about 32 miles south of Toledo.
