Man shot overnight in central Toledo, drives himself to hospital

One person was shot early today at Ottawa Drive and Auburn Avenue in central Toledo.

Carrington Brown, whose age was not available, was shot at about 3:30 a.m., according to police. According to an incident report, Mr. Brown told police he was outside The Wash, an after-hours club, when he heard gunshots and was struck in an arm. Mr. Brown drove himself to Toledo Hospital, police said.

At that same intersection, on Feb. 2, Michael Williams, Jr., was shot and killed after a fight started outside an after-hours club.

Friday night, Johnathan Hinton was shot in his upper thigh at 1501 Buckingham St. just before 10 p.m. According to an incident report, Mr. Hinton was standing next to his vehicle in front of Watkins Carry-Out when someone started shooting. He was picked up by a friend who started to drive the victim to Toledo Hospital, but the car was intercepted at North Detroit Avenue and Belmont Street by police; the victim was then taken to the hospital by Toledo Fire Department paramedics.

In the Buckingham shooting, one residence was struck, police said.
