West Toledo gas station, cab driver robbed

In apparently unrelated incidents, a West Toledo gas station and a cab driver were robbed over the weekend.

The BP robbery, 1702 W. Laskey Rd., was reported Friday at 10:05 p.m. Police said two people went into the store and demanded cash from an employee.  One suspect was armed with a dark-colored handgun while the second suspect acted as a lookout, police said.

Just before 1 a.m. Saturday, a driver for Black and White Cab Co. was parked at Franklin Park Mall, 5001 Monroe St., near Sylvania Avenue, to smoke a cigarette when a suspect approached and put a gun to the driver‘s head.‍ The suspect took the vicitm‘s cash and then fled.

No injuries were reported in either incident. Police ask that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
