A Toledo man charged with shooting a 16-year-old in the back was denied the right to be released from jail on electronic monitoring.

Christopher Bourn, 41, of 1032 Lincoln Ave., pleaded not guilty Monday to felonious assault and aggravated robbery in the July 22 shooting of Jeffery Burks near Dorr Street and Junction Avenue.

Claudia Ford, an assistant Lucas County prosecutor, opposed defense attorney James Anderson’s request to reduce Bourn’s $150,000 bond, saying the charges were serious and that a bullet still was lodged in the teen’s back. Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Dean Mandros continued his bond and set a trial for Sept. 8.
