An autopsy has been completed today on the 19-year-old boater whose body was recovered Tuesday afternoon from a private lake in Springfield Township.

The cause of death for Mustafa Naserdeen, of Maumee, was drowning, said Lucas County Deputy Dr. Diane Scala-Barnett.

An investigation into the death is ongoing by the Lucas County Sheriff's Department and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Dr. Barnett said the autopsy showed no sign of skeletal trauma or injuries and there was no evidence of foul play. She said alcohol was a factor in Mr. Naserdeen's death, but results of a blood-alcohol content test were not available.

Mr. Naserdeen was reported to be in the water and missing at a private lake at the Hidden Harbor subdivision near King and Angola roads shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters from Toledo and Springfield Township fire departments searched the waters for a short time Monday but were hampered by severe weather; they resumed the search Tuesday, finding his body at about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The Ohio DNR Division of Watercraft, Toledo Fire and Rescue divers, the Lucas County Sheriff‘‍s Office and the Monclova Twp. Fire Department aided in the search.
