Gas station in Ida Twp. robbed late Tuesday

IDA, Mich. – Late Tuesday, a Lewis Avenue gas station was robbed at knife point, officials said.

The robbery at BP, 3251 Lewis Ave., in Ida Township, was reported at 9:25 p.m. A man went into the gas station store and, at the counter, showed a clerk a knife, and demanded cash from a register. The clerk complied and gave the robbery an unspecified amount of money, and the suspect fled.

The suspect was described by officials from the Monroe County Sheriff‘‍s Office as white; he was last seen wearing a long-sleeve tan T-shirt, black baseball hat, and black pants. Anyone with information is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff's Office at 734-240-7530.
