Shooting reported in central Toledo

Person found at Monroe Street and Auburn Avenue taken to a hospital

After a reported shooting in central Toledo today, one person was taken to a local hospital, police said.

Officers at the scene, outside Toledo Wireless at Monroe Street and Auburun Avenue, did not know if the victim was actually shot or suffered a different type of injury. The victim was taken to the hospital by Toledo fire paramedics; the victim was found on on sidewalk along Auburn just before 7 a.m., police said.

The injuries did not appear to be life threatening, police said.

A detective from the Toledo Police Department‘s crime-scene investigations unit marked at least four locations where shell casings were found.‍

Across Monroe there is a real-time police camera, however it was not known if the shooting was captured. Police ask that anyone with information about the shooting call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
