Michigan man seriously injured in crash

MONROE — A 22-year-old man was seriously injured today after a motorcycle crash in Frenchtown Township.

Bret Coleman, of Monroe, was taken to Oakwood-Southshore Hospital in Trenton, Mich., where he was listed in critical condition. Deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff‘s Office reported that Mr. Coleman was driving a motorcycle eastbound on Nadeau Road at about 3 p.m. when he lost control of the bike and crashed into a westbound minivan.

Mr. Coleman, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle. Heidi Richards, 39, of Newport, Mich., was driving the minivan; she was not injured, but a 16-year-old passenger suffered “minor injuries.”
