An Indiana man was charged Saturday with making methamphetamine in his vehicle in North Toledo.

Eric Dombroff, 46, of Hudson, Ind., is accused of illegal manufacture of drugs, a first-degree felony.

Washington Township police said they pulled Dombroff over for driving about 59 mph in a 50-mph zone on East Alexis Road about 3:25 p.m. Saturday and also observed him sticking his head out the car’s window.

After stopping the car in a parking lot at Bob Evans, 1220 E. Alexis, officers found an active methamphetamine lab with cooking in progress beneath the driver’s seat, according to a complaint filed in Toledo Municipal Court.

The lab contained about 220 grams of methamphetamine, while chemicals and equipment with meth residue were in the back seat, according to court documents.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s hazardous-materials crew was called to the scene, at which Toledo police assisted.
