  • A West Toledo woman was arrested Monday after Toledo police say she drunkenly fled from officers in a vehicle driving the wrong way on a one-way street and through a school zone.

Brenda Gee, 23, of the 1800 block of Giant Street, is charged with failure to comply with a police officer’s order or signal, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

Police observed Gee headed the wrong way at about 7:45 a.m. Monday on 14th Street approaching Monroe Street, according to a police report. A Toledo police officer activated his overhead lights, but Gee continued driving.

The vehicle turned left onto Jefferson Avenue, where despite one of its tires bursting, it continued at high speed.

Gee nearly struck other vehicles in a school zone, according to police, before eventually stopping and being taken into custody.

She was taken to the Lucas County jail and then arraigned later Monday in Toledo Municpal Court, where Judge Joshua Lanzinger set bond at $10,000. She was not listed in jail records Tuesday as an inmate there.
