City man charged with intentionally setting fire

A central city man is charged with intentionally setting his fiance’s North Toledo home ablaze last month.

Jeronica Phillips, 49, of the 1800 block of Fernwood Avenue, is charged with two counts of aggravated arson, a first and second-degree felony.

Mr. Phillips is accused of pouring gasoline on the front porch of Tonya Cason’s home in the 200 block of Kevin Place in North Toledo, according to an affidavit filed in Toledo Municipal Court. The fire happened on Nov. 19.

The porch ignited and set the home on fire as a result, according to court records.

Mr. Phillips was arrested by Toledo police Friday and booked in the Lucas County jail, according to booking records.

It was not immediately known when he is expected to appear in Toledo Municipal Court.
